Assistant Foreperson – Pool – Seasonal
DEFINITION: Under direction of the Pool Foreman, oversees the maintenance and cleaning of the pool and the operation of a variety of special service equipment used to maintain the pool; performs varied simple and moderately physically strenuous tasks involved in maintaining pools, offices, buildings, and grounds; may assist in making minor repairs to buildings or equipment; does other related duties as required.
Early morning, daytime, and evening shifts available. Weekday and weekend shifts available. Flexible total hours per week, up to 40 regularly scheduled hours. Salary Range - $25-$27/hour.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Responsible for maintaining the chemical balance of the pool.
- Responsible for operating and maintaining pool equipment, including filtration, chlorine, and Co2.
- Supervises cleaning and maintenance programs for the pool area.
- Oversees the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Provides assignments and instruction to staff.
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of reports and chemical testing.
- Inspects the pool facility, rescue equipment, and mechanical equipment daily to ensure the safety of the pool patrons.
- Runs power cleaning equipment, cleans and oils the equipment, and changes brushes and accessories.
- May mow lawns, trim hedges, rake leaves and remove refuse, trim driveway and sidewalk edges using spades and hoes.
- Distributes supplies.
- When needed, moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment over 50 lbs.
LICENSE:
- Valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Licensed Certified Pool Operator preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the methods used in the maintenance and repair of building and grounds.
- Knowledge of the methods used to operate maintenance equipment.
- Ability to provide assignments and instructions to staff.
- Ability to identify maintenance and repair problems
- Ability to plan and coordinate maintenance tasks.
- Ability to provide technical assistance to staff.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Knowledge of procedures, materials, and tools used in washing, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing wood, tile, cement, linoleum, glass, and other woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.
- Knowledge of use of and minor adjustment to sweepers, pool vacuums, cleaners, and other equipment.
- Knowledge of how to make minor repairs to heating, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
- Ability to handle cleaning problems, lift and move moderately heavy objects, organize cleaning work, and develop work methods.
- Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions, and to learn quickly from directions and demonstrations.
- Ability to maintain a pool facility, office, recreational center or area in a clean, hygienic, and orderly condition.
- Ability to follow safety precautions and to report potentially hazardous conditions.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees.
- Ability to keep simple records.
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
