IMPORTANT CHANGE TO MAPLEWOOD CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION

REQUEST PROCESS

Effective Immediately: All Uniform Construction Code (UCC) inspection requests associated with permits issued by the Construction Division must be submitted via online form or written request by using this form: Inspection Request Form.

WHAT IS CHANGING?

Effective immediately, your request for an inspection has to be submitted on line or made in writing in the Construction Division office using this form:  Inspection Request Form.   

WHICH INSPECTIONS ARE INVOLVED?

This change applies only to requests for inspections associated with permits issued under the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) that involve renovations or additions.                                    

WHY IS THIS CHANGE NECESSARY?

New Jersey’s Uniform Construction Code, which Maplewood follows, has been amended to require that requests for inspections be in writing.  N.J.A.C 5:23-2.18 (c).  [Clicking citation should bring you to the full text of the regulation.)

HOW CAN I SUBMIT AN INSPECTION REQUEST?

Inspection requests must be submitted either online or in the Construction Division Office using this form: Inspection Request Form.
